BQ25892: Charging Profile

Hi expert,

Could you please advise what might goes wrong with the charging current at the red circle area that higher than REG04 Ichg setting 2048mA? It goes up to 2286mA and even over the Ichg accuracy 5%.

    Hi Allan, 

    It is strange that the charge current goes above the ICHG setting only for a short period of time. If it was an issue with ICHG regulation accuracy I would expect the charge current to remain at approximately 2286 mA for the majority of fast charge region. 

    -What is the amount of time that the charge current is higher than expected?

    -Can you help to provide further details on the test setup. Is there a load connected at SYS? Is the data to the right of charge current in the table the input voltage and current? 

    -Can you provide a register log both when the current rises to 2286mA and after it reduces back to expected 2A? Reviewing the registers will help to determine the reason for the observed behavior.
