Hello,

We had selected the 27220 as our fuel gauge but this device is only available in a small geometry

BGA package. This is pushing the requirements for the board (drill sizes) in order to use this device.

Can you please recommend a few additional fuel gauges that are available in larger packages?

Our product is a low-power, solar rechargeable sensing device. We are currently using a single

LI-Poly battery. The current battery capacity is 2500mAH. This is sized to provide a buffer for long overcast periods.

I wanted to add that the 27220 was a CEDV type fuel gauge. It is our understanding that this is the preferred algorithm for applications that are continuously charging and discharging. This requirement does not leave many options. So will impedance track be an option? Otherwise, it appears that the BQ34210-Q1 might be an option. Please comment. John

The bq34210 is for rarely discharged applications.

There is not much choice for CEDV single cell gauges. Currently bq27220 is the best choice.

bq4050 is a multicell CEDV gauge that can be used for single cell too.
