Isolated DC-DC Controller SM Bus or I2C

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD3138

Hello E2E Experts.

Good day.

Looking for an Isolated DC-DC Power solution controlled through SM Bus or I2C. Currently using 3 Semiconductor Circuits CPE1U48 Module 3 in series to generate an output voltage of 50V or 100V or 150V. The 3 modules are connected in series + Diode to add up the voltage.

We are looking for a solution where for one of the outputs we want to control digitally to vary the voltages from 5 volts to 50 volts. That way we can achieve a voltage range of 5V to 150V. where two of the output modules can be fixed voltage 50V with on/off control and the third one can be controlled from 5V to 50V thro SM bus or I2C.

Single or 3 modules solution.

  • Hi CSC,

For a digital controller you may want to look into the UCD product family.

This reference design: PMP4333 reference design | TI.com uses the UCD3138 to power multiple 48V rails. This design seems to have more power than needed for your application. However, for SMbus or I2C you will most likely need a digital controller like the UCD3138.

You may want to repost an E2E thread using UCD3138 as the part number so the responsible people can support it.

    Thanks,

    Joseph
