BQ76952: BQ76952 REG2 voltage ripple

Part Number: BQ76952

Hi

The customer design with BQ76952, after the load is added, the output voltage of REG2 will drop. Only by disconnecting the current sense line, there is no such problem.

The output of REG2 is 5V, which supplies power to the peripheral communication chip, and the drop is about 2V.

Please help check it.

Thanks

  • Hello Star,

Please share the full schematic with a better resolution.

  • Hi Jose

    Attached the schematic.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Thanks

  • Hello Star,

The BREG, REGIN, REG1/2 connections look ok. Although I do not think this will prevent the issue, a 10M Ohm resistor between BREG and VSS is recommended to avoid leakage current during shutdown mode (we haven't seen this much, but we recommend).

The customer design with BQ76952, after the load is added, the output voltage of REG2 will drop. Only by disconnecting the current sense line, there is no such problem.

What do you mean by disconnecting the current sense line? Removing the load? Is PACK- the same as the ground of the IC? I have seen customers use the same reference GND for the sense resistor and IC, and this causes many problems.

Please share the entire schematic where I can see the PACK- and BAT- connections.
