I use the auto detect mode of TPS2540,it can charge device but not finding device.
How can I setup which mode for IPAD to charge and find device?

Hi!
I use the auto detect mode of TPS2540,it can charge device but not finding device.
How can I setup which mode for IPAD to charge and find device?
I use the CDP mode for IPAD device.
The IPAD device can shown on PC,but can't charger.
The IPAD show can't charge.
Using power supplier offer power to EVM.
The power supplier show 5V and 0.48A.
Can not raise the current to 0.9A.
I want use the TPS2540 to charger and transfer data for IPAD
Is the IPAD discharged sufficiently (so that it requests more charge current)? CDP mode (CTL1..3 = 1,1,1) should work (up to ~900mA).
As a test, you can also try DCP mode (no data, but will auto detect) and measure the charge current. Set CTL1..3 = 1,0,1
Hi Eric!
I test the DCP mode(auto detect)on EVM,the IPAD can be charged (current 900mA).
But I test CDP mode. The IPAD can be found by PC,but charged current only 480mA.And IPAD show can't charge.
The IPAD battery is about 36%.
Do I must to discharge the IPAD,first?
Most likely the the IPAD won't charge in CDP mode because the host is not a recognized Apple host (like an IMAC for example). Can you try charging the IPAD with an Apple device?
Hi! Eric
I test using IMAC to charge IPAD.
The resute is that IMAC can't charge IPAD.
I want to know the TPS2540 application for IPAD.
Which mode can use charging and data transfering for IPAD?
Or it just only charging application for IPAD!
The IPAD should slow charge (less than half amp) with data from a PC. Charging indicator will not indicate charging but IPAD can charge up overnight (look at the percent charge indicator before and after slow charge).
TPS2540 can only enumerate in DCP mode (no data) with IPAD and charge at only ~900mA.
On CDP mode, althought IPAD can show charge with data from PC.But IPAD can't indicate charge ,which is unable to meet customer application needs.
For the TPS2540 specification, has following narrative:
A CDP is a USB port that follows USB 2.0 BC1.2 and supplies a minimum of 1.5 A per port.
I use EVM to test for IPAD. On CDP mode,it can't charge IPAD over 500mA.
Is it has the same problem other device (Other PAD devices) ? Or just only for IPAD.
The portable device must “ask for permission” to charge at a higher current. If the portable device doesn't follow the new industry battery charging standards, it can only charge at a lower current.
