UCC256301: About the setting problem of LL value in Simplis model

Part Number: UCC256301
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC256302, UCC256402

Hi Team!

I have questions about the LL value in the simplis model.

Is that a voltage value or something else?

What does it represent and how does it affect the simulation?

BR,

Vic Chen

  • Hi Vic,

Please follow the section 8.2.2.20 of the UCC256301 data sheet for setting burst mode settings in the simplis model.

If you are using this model for initial evaluation, we would strongly recommend using our UCC25640x family which has much improved features compared to 30x.

  • Dear Manikanta P

Thank you very much for your answer.

In fact, I have already designed and made a sample using the UCC256302. Initially, I did some simulations using Simplis, but I haven't completely understood the LL/SS part yet. It seems that there are some differences between the simulation model settings and the actual product regarding the LL/SS part.

The current results from testing the sample show that it is working properly but only in burst mode. Do you have any suggestions for this situation? Additionally, can I directly replace the UCC256302 with the UCC256402 for testing purposes?

    BR.

    Vic

  • Hi Vic,

The UCC256302 can be replaced by the UCC256402. I have highlighted the differences of these two controllers in the below picture. So, you can see here that there are minimal differences.  Please use the UCC25640x design calculator for finding the new component values around the controller.

The setting of burst mode in 402 simplis model is Stright forward. Let me know if you still face any issues with that setting.

  • Dear Manikanta P

Thank you very much for your response!

I will try to change the UCC256302 to UCC256402.

In case a new issue arises, I will engage your team's helps once more.

    Thanks again.

    BR.
