BQ35100: How to get new batteries added to chemistry list

Part Number: BQ35100
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCCHEM

Hello,

I recently started using the BQ35100 because of its support for LiMnO2 primary cell batteries. I am using the fuel gauge with the Saft LM26500 and Saft LM17500 cells. I have updated to the latest chemistry set (1016) and I do see the LM26500 on the list, but not the LM17500.

I have two questions:

1. How do I get the LM17500 added to the list of battery chemistries?

2. How can I figure out a good alternative cell chemistry to use until the LM17500 becomes available?

Any help is appreciated,

Nathan

  • Hello Nathan,

For primary battery gauging you must use the exact same chemistry ID as the battery you are using (the model numbers must match associated with the chem ID) You cannot get a match with GPCCHEM tool, it is only for rechargeable batteries.

I have sent you a friend request to discuss the chem ID process.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
