PTN78020A: dimension different from data sheet

Part Number: PTN78020A

Hi Experts,

For PTN78020AAH, the customer found the dimension does not match with the datasheet. Also, the side of the parts is different from the datasheet. Kindly see the pictures(attached zip) below. Can you please help to explain?

  • Hi Gerald,

I assign this post to module PE Alejandro Vazquez. He will look into it.

    Thanks,

    Nancy

  • Hi Gerald, I need more details about the customer question.

    1. Can customer explain what they mean by side of parts don't look the same as the datasheet?

    2. What is this picture measuring? the picture they sent is not clear on what is being measured.

    Thank you,

    Alejandro.

  • Hi Alejandro,

    1. see picture 4.4-1 attached, the actual measurement is 5.15mm, but the data sheet shows 3.55mm.

    2. The part outlook of side is not matching the datasheet, see picture 4.4-2 and 4.4-3.

3.See picture 4.4-4, the label shows CSO:XXX and CCO:XXX, is it correct?

4.The parts top label has not printed TI logo, which is not matching the datasheet, see picture 4.4-5 and 4.4-6.

Kindly please provide an explanation for the above questions. Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

  • Hi Gerald,

I've forwarded this questions to the manufacturing site, I will update on their reply as soon as available.

    Thank you,

    Alejandro.

  • HI Gerald,

See the answers from the Factory regarding the 4 questions:

    1. see picture 4.4-1 attached, the actual measurement is 5.15mm, but the data sheet shows 3.55mm.

[TI} The measurement with the caliper was taken incorrectly, the pin was measured starting from the module’s PCB  whereas it should be measured starting from the host board according to Datasheet, see pictures CS1668202 and CS1668202 B.

    1. The part outlook of side is not matching the datasheet, see picture 4.4-2 and 4.4-3.

[TI] Datasheet outlook is a reference to illustrate module’s dimensions such as overall height, lowest component clearance, pin length , etc. do not describe exact dimension of components in the module.

3.See picture 4.4-4, the label shows CSO:XXX and CCO:XXX, is it correct?

[TI] It is correct, CSO and CCO identify the source and origin of TI ICs in the label, given the module has multiple ICs these are not included in the label.

4.The parts top label has not printed TI logo, which is not matching the datasheet, see picture 4.4-5 and 4.4-6.

[TI] The ID label is not printed TI logo, please refer to datasheet page Addendum-Page 1:

    (4) There may be additional marking, which relates to the logo, the lot trace code information, or the environmental category on the device

It means that not necessarily logo is included as part of the ID label information .

    Thank you,

    Alejandro.

  • Hi, I haven't received any comments on the reply for the customer in several days. I am going to close this as resolved.

    Thank you,

    Alejandro.
