LMR36510: Capacitor between VCC and GND.

Part Number: LMR36510

Hi,

According to the datasheet P.20, we can find the following:

This output requires a 1-µF, 16-V ceramic capacitor connected from VCC to GND for proper operation.

However, my customer wants to use 1uF 10-V ceramic capacitor.  Do you have any concerns to use it?  Please advise us.

Thanks and best regards,
M.HATTORI.

  • Hi M.HATTORI

VCC pin is the output of the internal LDO used to supply the control circuits of the regulator and gate driver, so it need a capacitor for stable output. As we know, the ceramic capacitor’s effective capacitance decreases as the applied DC voltage increases. 1uF 10-V will decrease more than 1-µF, 16-V in same DC bias, so it may cause LDO output unstable and will further cause control circuits work abnormal.
