Hello TI Team,

We are using the TPS65987DDHRSHR PD controller, protection circuit and power supply ICs of TI in one of our designs. Currently, we are in the layout design stage and We need your support for the technical review of the attached schematic as We are using a PD controller, 2:1 Mux with redriver and protection circuits for the very first time.

Please provide your valuable feedback which will help us for working on the PD design.

Hi Aya,

Thanks for your quick response. I changed the capacitor's values as suggested.

If a power adapter is connected then the Upstream device will charge through the PD controller and also downstream devices will get power but if the power adapter is not connected then the Upstream device will act as the source of power through the PD controller for downstream devices.

Is the PD controller switched automatically for the sink and source applications? How much time will the PD controller take for switching from source to sink?

Is the PD controller requires a reboot when switching from source to sink or sink to the source?
