LM7481: Oring solution

Hi Team

There is a 48V bus, and a 48V PSU. I'm looking for an oring solution. When the 48V bus is on, the system is powered by the 48V bus, otherwise it is powered by the PSU. Could you please help to check if LM7481 is an option? Or please help to recommend a suitable solution. Thanks.

Yes, LM7480-Q1 in priority power muxing configuration can be used for this requirement. Please refer to section 'Design # 6: Reverse Battery Protection With Priority Power MUXing' of Six System Architectures With Robust Reverse Battery Protection Using an Ideal Diode Controller

Hi Praveen，

The requirements of the ORing solution have changed, and one channel of 48V/60A is now used. Reverse input protection is needed. In this case, the LM7480-Q1 seems to be over spec. Can you help to check whether LM74700-Q1 is a good solution? Are there any non-auto parts?

Hi Hailiang,

If only input reverse polarity protection is required, you can consider using LM74500-Q1

In case, reverse polarity protection + reverse current blocking is required, use LM74700-Q1

LM74800-Q1 is required only if forward current blocking is required in conditions like Over voltage or EN ON/OFF control.
