Hi Team,

Our customer is looking for a SEPIC converter. The specifications of the power supply are as follows:

Input voltage range = 6V to 18V
Typical input voltage = 12V
Output voltage = 12V
Output current = 4.16A
Power output = 50W

I found the PMP10886 reference design which is close to his requirements. The PMP10886 reference design is using the LM5122, an industrial grade device. However, our customer needs an automotive grade one. It seems that the LM5122-Q1 ca be use for the same application instead of LM5122. Can you please confirm?

Additionally, he needs an application note that he can use to compute for the values of components in a SEPIC converter application. Do we have one?

Hi Danilo,

Yes, I think it is OK for LM5122-Q1.

You may refer to AN-1484 for component selection.

But for 50W output, you may also consider 4 switch buck-boost solutions.

Q1: Can I find a demonstration to fix the values of the compensation network, to get a good stabilization of the SEPIC converter?

Q2; who finds the small signal of the circuit (the SEPIC)?
