TLV62568: Issue with buck converter at low temperatures

Hello,

I am testing the TLV62568 buck converter and have encountered an issue with low temperatures. When the temperature drops below 0 degrees, the buck converter stops working. However, when I put my finger on the PCB (front or back), the buck converter starts working again.

Could someone please provide some insights into what might be causing this issue? Is there a way to solve this problem?

Generally TLV62568 can be operated at a junction temperature of -40 to 125 °C. so there should not be any problem with the device operation.

Can you please provide me the waveforms plotting Vin(at the device input capacitor), Vout(at the device ouput capacitor) and SW node voltage at 0 °C all in same scope.

Hello Moheddin,

Thank you for the suggestions to troubleshoot this issue.

Unfortunately, the problem was a bit silly after some research. I discovered that the problem was not with the buck converter itself, but with the UVLO circuit that I had added to the enable pin. It turns out that the UVLO circuit was temperature dependent (which should not have been), and that was causing the buck converter to stop working at low temperatures.
