LM61495-Q1: Can I use this component to have a fixed 12v output to drive inductive loads?

Hi, need to drive 4 inductive loads through high-side switches. I have come to the issue that all of the automotive grade HS switches that are capacle of driving coils at their needed current for my supply voltage. I need to support up to 36V supply voltage.

My thought is that could I regulate a 6-36V input to 12v to do this? Or if you have any other/better ideas then that would be great!

    The LM61495-Q1 is a buck converter so it will regulate a higher voltage to a lower voltage. If your lowest input voltage is 6V, and have the output voltage set to 12V, the device will be in dropout mode where output voltage regulates to the input voltage minus a diode drop. 

    If you need to regulate a 6Vin to 12Vout, you may want to use a buck boost converter instead of this device.

    Do you have any suggestions of a part that will support 8V-36V and give a 12V output capable of driving inductive loads (Gigavac GV241MAB contactors)? The pickup current of the contactors are around 5A and only about 200mA constant current once the coil is closed. I am looking for automotive grade components ideally.
