BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW: EC3-EC0 shows 0x7

Part Number: BQ78350-R2-DEVICE-FW

Hello Sir:

We have three questions about BQ78350-R2.

1. We want to know that the EC3-EC0 bits of batterystatus display 0x07, UnknownError.

What's the meaning? Why does the device have this message?

2. What conditions make the INIT flag change to 0? do you have some timing diagram show that?

Please kindly provide your recommendations.

Looking forward your feedback.

Thanks a lot.

  • UnknownError means that one of the functions that were called based on a specific command that was received on the bus returned an error. Because there are only three bits of error information, there's only a limited number of error codes and any error that isn't related to a problem on the bus is mapped to "UnknownError". It may be possible to estimate the reason for the error, if the command is known that triggered the UnkownError.

INIT will change to 0 after the gauge is done booting up and ready to start gauging. It will not report valid result unit this time (it will report default values, for example for voltage and temperature).
