LP55231SQEVM: enable pin floating

Part Number: LP55231SQEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP55231

Hi team,

In our battery based design we have used LP55231 led drivers in which VDD will be always given even during board shutdown condition but enable pin is tied to 3P1V pull up when the device shuts off the 3P1V  voltage will be depowered. So enable pin will be left floating during shutdown condition.

1) Now our concern is will this affect the battery life.

2) Is this right approach to proceed with??

Thank you,

Sangeetha

  • Hi Sangeetha,

    For your questions:

    1) If the EN pin is pulled low, our device will enter shutdown mode, and the Ivdd will down to 0.2-1uA, I think it is too small to affect the battery life

    2) I think connect a pull-down resistor to EN pin to keep the EN pin in low level during shutdown condition will be better.

    Thanks!

    Ives Li
