LM74502: LM74502 vs LM74502H

Part Number: LM74502

We're building a 200A 50V switch for a battery system with inverter. See enclosed schematic.

Can a LM74502 have sufficient drive to run these FETs in parallel, or do I need the LM74052H?

DO I need any capacitors in the SRC or GATE drive?

Thanks

  • Hi Tom,

What is the total output capacitance at the output of LM74502-Q1 ? The reason for asking this is to understand if inrush current limit is required during start up or is it okay to start up very fast without inrush current control.

  • LM74502-Q1 with typical peak gate drive strength of 60 μA is suitable to achieve smooth start-up with inherent inrush current control due to its lower gate drive strength. This device is suitable for capacitive loads where inrush current control is required.

LM74502H-Q1 with its 11-mA typical peak gate drive strength is suitable for applications which need faster turn-on such as load switch applications.
