Our original design was based on using LM5140-Q1,

but TI has significantly increased the price of this IC

I would like to ask if we can use LM5143A-Q1 instead.

If it is a suitable replacement, what factors should we consider?

Our current design specifications are as follows:

Input: 24V

Output Voltage: 5V

Output Current: 40A

LM5143A-Q1 can cover all applications which LM5140-Q1 can.

Please download Quick Start calculator at https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/SNVC229 and start your design. Pin outs are different, so you have to redesign the PC Board.

Hi Eric

It appears that LM5140-Q1 and LM5143A-Q1 only differ in three pins

Pin 34, P37, Pin38, which are all configuration pins.

Therefore, is it possible to avoid modifying the PCB by simply changing the resistor values connected to these pins?

It depends on the schematic and the layout using LM5140-Q1.

There is a capacitor at #38?
There is a resistor at #37?
Need to connect #34 to VDDA ? to GND ?
