LM74700-EP: Extending LM74700 or other ORing controller to Higher voltages

Hi Team,

We are interested in using the ORing controller to reduce power losses in our 110V locomotive battery applications. As you may know, the battery voltage in these applications can vary from 60V to 160V. We have reviewed the specifications of the ORing controller and believe it can help us achieve our goals.

However, we would like to know how we can extend the ORing controller to higher voltages beyond the standard operating range. Could you please provide us with more information on how we can achieve this? We would appreciate any guidance or recommendations you can provide.

Multiple locomotive batteries are connected to the same load. In case, one of the battery voltage is low, it should not charge from other batteries. The typical power rating is 10kW.

Hi Raju,

Unfortunately we do not have an Ideal Diode solution which can work for DC voltage > 75V. We do have solutions that can support transient voltage operation for >100V but not DC operation.

Hi Raju,

Right now we do not have a solution for 160V DC application. We will continue to think of a possible work around to use our devices at higher voltages and will get back to you if we find any.
