BQ21061: I2C communication in active battery mode

Part Number: BQ21061

Hi

I have problem to use i2c communication in active battery mode. I am pretty sure the LP pin is high.

At the moment, I can only access the I2C by for MR low. I don't have oscilloscope or possibility to access the I2C pin. Is there any way to find where the problem is?

Here is my connection schematic.

Thanks for help!

  • Hi,

It may help to confirm what state you are in when you're unable to communicate via I2C to try to find the root cause of the issue. I have a few questions that may provide useful context:

    - Can you try I2C communication when Adaptor is connected?

    - When you are unable to communicate via I2C can you please provide VDD voltage.

I can only access the I2C by for MR low

    - Do you mean you can only communicate when the /MR is held low?

    - How long are you holding /MR low? Can you communicate still after it has been released?

    - What is your battery and input voltages when you can and can't communicate with the device?

    - Looking at your schematic, can you clarify what the /CD pin is connected to?

    Best Regards,

    Juan Ospina

  • Problem solved, it was my MCU configuration problem.
