LM5170: Current control between HV port and resistive load

Hello,

I have to design a 50/100 A current source, from a power sypply of 14/18 V.

The load is resistive and with that current should not be more than 10/12 V.

I'm searching for a controller when I can set the desidered current with an MCU.

The LM5170 has all the specifications I need for my project, but It works between two voltage port HV and LV (2 batteries tipically).

I don't understand if it can works between a power supply on the HV port and only a resistive load in the LV port.

Please, can you give me some informations about?

Hi Marco,

LM5170 can be used this way.

You may refer to TIDA-01041 where 100A constant current is achieved.

Hello,

I'm working a bit with the reference TINA Ti design and it seems possible to get current regulation on a resistive load.

Now I would play a bit with the Design Calculator of the LM5170-Q1, but It can't be download from TI website. I just click on download and nothing happen.

Can you have a direct link for that calculator?

I need to understand better the outer control loop and design it.
