Hello,
In a design I have we are using the BQ24232RGTT, to charge a Lithium-Polymer Battery, it has the right characteristics, e.g charges to 4.2V and allows for the correct charging current for the battery we have in mind. However, I'm uncertain if it can be used with the a Lithium Polymer battery chemistry the BQ24232 page from the TI website suggets it can, (URL: https://www.ti.com/product/BQ24232), giving the battery chemistry as both Li-ion and Li-Po.
However, the datasheet for the BQ24232 doesn't mention Lithium-Polymer batteries but only Li-Ion, (URL:https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq24232.pdf?ts=1684834194764&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fproduct%252FBQ24232%253FkeyMatch%253DBQ24232RGTT%2526tisearch%253Dsearch-everything%2526usecase%253DOPN), and so does the seller of the part Mouser, (URL: https://www.mouser.co.uk/ProductDetail/Texas-Instruments/BQ24232RGTT?qs=drm0CCHqiV6zfY%252BKVPM80Q%3D%3D).
Is the BQ24232RGTT able to be used to charge Lithium Polymer batteries?
Many thanks for your help regarding this query, apologies for any inconvenience.
