TPS62825: Low output voltage

Part Number: TPS62825

TPS62825, the designed output voltage is 2.5V, and the load current is only about 10mA~30mA, which supplies power for the reference voltage of DDR and several banks of FPGA. There are three circuit boards, one of witch has low output voltage after multiple power on, only about 2.2V. The chip, inductor, and voltage divider resistor have been changed many times, and the capacitor of 120pF has also been added. Even if the load is increased by 0.5A, it is also the same, but it is useless. How to solve this problem, thank you

  • Hi User,

I believe you replaced the IC and see the same failure.

It could be that there is something on the load side drawing a high current and the TPS62825 is current limited.

Could you try removing FB48 so that all load on the output is disconnected and try startup once more.

You could also try probing the inductor current to see if the IC is current limited.

    Best regards,
