I am working on a PCB design that features 2 SFP+ ports that will host SFP+ transceiver modules with extended range operating temps from -40C to +85C. Each SFP+ module will draw a max of 1 W at 3.3V (~303 mA). The PCB has 5V and 3.3V rails available. To save on power, I would like to turn off one module while one remains on, so I believe a single channel load switch for controlling the 3.3V rail would work well. I am considering using TPS22958, but I would like some recommendations if there is are more suitable parts for this applicaition, with lower power dissipation and thermal considerations.in mind. I would be glad to here other options, thank you.
