LP5860EVM: Having trouble making the device work propertly

Part Number: LP5860EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5860, USB2ANY

Hello all,

I'm trying to set-up the LP5860 evaluation board on a windows 10 machine.

I'm using the USB2ANY adapter I got with the device as a set.

I followed all instructions of hardware/software setup.

I connected the EV board to USB2ANY device using a 30-pin ribbon cable. All jumpers are set to default.

When connecting the USB2ANY to the PC, I can see a device named "MSP430-based HID Device" under "Bluetooth & other devices".

When first entering "LP586X" software, at the bottom left of the window, there is a massage "Hardware not connected". If I press the "brackets" symbol, I get a "Connecting to TI Cloud Agent..." and it stays like this for long time, then I get a massage "GC Runtime Installation Error".

I tried installing it a couple of times, nothing helps.

Please help out, Thanks.

  • Hi,

There are some possible ways to resolve this issue on your computer.

        1. plug out the connection between USB2ANY and your laptop

        2. right click on the GUI icon, and select "run as administrator"

        3. press Ctrl+Shift+Esc for Task Manager and check if there are nwjs running (if there are, please End Task)

        4. if none of above works for you, simply reboot your computer

If it is not work for you, I assume the problem is due to the software compatibility of your computer. You could try reinstall the EVM on your laptop or simply install it on another computer (if you have one).

    Thanks!
