TPS51220: Improve Thermal issue

Part Number: TPS51220

Hi team,

I have a customer design in PPS51220 and wants to improve the thermal issue.

Now they reference our Application Report SNVA419C and have some questions.

They want to know where does 15.29 (for cm) & 2.37 (for in), 500 (for cm) & 77.5 (for in), come from? And what does that mean?

They are calculating the minimum PCB area required to dissipate the power based on the thermal resistance from the PCB area to the ambient air.

Equation 9 is based on a 33C temperature rise.

Equation 10 is for a generic Ambient to case temperature rise
