Good day.

  • Could you help me unseal the chip BQ40Z50 installed in the HP battery SS03XL?
    Device type 4550_1_05, I think it is BQ40Z50-R1
    The default unseal keys 0x0414 and 0x3672 not working for it.

Additional information:

I have the ASUS laptop old batteries with the chips BQ30Z55 and BQ4050. I haven’t the problems to unseal it and change parameters, they have the default unseal keys.

I also have the HP problem battery SS03XL with the chip BQ40Z50-R1 (4550_1_05) and I can’t unseal it with default unseal keys 0x0414 0x3672. As I understand the chips BQ4050 and BQ40Z50-Rx have the same unseal/FAS procedure.

I have the device CP2112 and my own C++ program. And I have the device EV2400 and the application BQ Studio.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello CSC,

    We cannot help unseal a battery gauge that does not have the default keys. This is a security mechanism to prevent users from being able to edit the settings of the gauge and is configured by the manufacturer. If you work for the manufacturer you will need to contact someone with the keys, usually not many individuals are given access to them, this is to prevent tampering.
