LMG3526R030: Vds rating

Hi Team,

My Customer have performed some testing on Ti GaN using EVAL Board. Still have some questions about Vds rating:

1. As per datasheet, 650V GaN has 720V Surge rating and 800V Transient rating with some duty cycle and timing limitation. Does Vds  surge and transient ratings has any variation with temperature, Fsw and dV/dT?  

2. Just wanted to confirm, if we are operating 650V GaN below 600V,  under normal operations  then does it impact GaN’s reliability?

    Hello,

    1. Operating within the ratings specified in the datasheet will not affect any Vds ratings. As long as the operating conditions fall within the maximum limits, all Vds ratings specified in the datasheet will apply.

    2. Lower voltages may improve the GaN reliability; however, this is not a guarantee covered in our datasheet. For all reliability, we advise to operate within the limits specified in the datasheet, and doing so will provide you with the corresponding reliability assurance. Operating conditions within the max have not been characterized and therefore cannot be confirmed to have better reliability.
