Dear all,
In all BQ27Z561-R2 documentation I see that protection circuit is shown after the gauge and cell solution. Meaning that when protection trips cell and gauge stays connected and only system is disconnected from PACK terminals. However all Li-polymer cells are sold with integrated protection circuit. Can I use Li-polymer battery with integrated protection circuit? Meaning that in malfunction scenarios when protection will trip my gauge will lose power and will stop gauging until I will enable charger and reset the protection circuit.
I understand that while protection circuit will be engaged I will not be able to communicate with gauge, but I'm more concerned to hear are there other downsides that I do not think about? Will gauge retain cell info and history in this event?
Regards
