6254.How to Complete a Successful Learning Cycle for the BQ34z100.pdf I am running it as a reference, but it works as follows.

1.Push IT_Enable button
QEN:High
2.Push Reset button
RUS_DIS:High
Update Status 0x04
3.Start discharge
4.Stop discharge
VOK:Low
RUP_DIS:Low
OCVTAKEN:High
5.Start charging
VOK:High
FC:High
6.Stop charging
VOK:Low
RUS_DIS:Low
OCVTAKEN:High
Update status:0x04

Update status will be 0x04 instead of 0x05.
Please tell me why this happens.
Please let me know if there are any settings I should be aware of.

Can Update Status become 0x04 after a period of 0x05?

Hey Katsunori,

Usually, update will not go backwards, so it would not change from 05 to 04. How many batteries are in series, and how many are in parallel. Can you also send me the datasheet of your battery. I noticed in the gg file that your termination voltage is set at 3200mV. Is this what is specified in the datasheet of your battery, or is this termination voltage based on the protections you have? For the first Qmax update, there needs to be at least a 90% change in DoD of the battery. This is what will cause learning status to update from 04 to 05.

The protection function voltage is not listed in the datasheet. So I set it myself.
DoD is 90%, but please tell me how to calculate 90%.

Two battery modules are used in series.
Inside the battery module, four cells are connected in series. Therefore, 8 cells are connected in series.
As for the current plan, the discharge current is C/5=1A, so we are planning to use a discharge current of about 0.9A.

Hey Katsunori,

So I actually just helped someone recently who was using your exact same battery and was seeing the exact same problem. To get Update status to change from 04 to 05, you will need to discharge below 3.2 volts to get the change in DoD to be greater than 90%. Therefore, you will need to find a way to bypass the protections in the battery pack. I will link the thread of the other person I helped with this problem here: Thread

Is it OK to discharge from 3.2V when the depth of discharge is 90%?
Is it 3.1V? Is it 3.0V?
Please tell me how to find the depth of discharge

Hey Katsunori,

Unfortunately, I am not able to disclose of that information. However, that is why we recommend that you discharge as close as possible to the terminate voltage that is specified for your battery, which for your case is 2.0 V. If it is an issue of trying to bypass the protections, then a last resort would be to get access to a single ANR26650M1-B cell (which I presume is the cell that is used in your battery pack based on the previous thread I helped) and running the learning cycle on a single cell.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to disassemble the battery module as we are not the developer of the battery module.
Once the protection function is activated, no voltage will be generated unless the battery is charged once.
Shouldn't this be a problem in the learning sequence? If so, it will discharge until the protection function works.
We are creating a similar state by discharging the current protection function to the last minute and removing the battery once.
If you can't disclose the depth of discharge, could you give me a hint whether it's the voltage or the integrated current?

Hey Katsunori,

Yes, the protections cutting off the voltage of the battery pack will be a problem for the learning cycle process. The voltage you are able to discharge to is the problem for completing the learning cycle. You have to discharge below 3.2V.
