UCC28631: How to estimate the controller power dissipation

Hi team,

My customer would ilke to estimate the junction temperature from the case top temperature of UCC28631.

Could you let me know how to estimate the controller power dissipation?

What datasheet current parameter should I use to calculate power dissipation from VDD and HV?

Hi Itoh-San,

Thank you for the query on UCC28631.

For steady state operation, we can approximate the power losses as two components - (Vdd*Idd(run)) + MOSFET DRV related loss (Vg*Qg*Fsw)
