Hi,

If my understanding of this part is correct, the shutdown of the device in short circuit failure relies on the Junction temperature exceeding the thermal shutdown temperature? This means it would exceed its rated -40C to 125C, and the application i'm looking to use an efuse in requires components do not exceed rated temperatures. If that's the case are there any efuses around that don't rely on thermal shutdown as their mechanism or won't exceed their rated specs.

Hi Joe,

Every eFuse will work like this and eFuse is designed to handle those high transient temp before TSD comes in. What is your exact concern?

Hi Kunal,

Thanks for the reply, my concern is the application i'm using it in requires components do no exceed their rated temperatures in fault conditions. So ideally i'd need something that once a short circuit is placecd on the efuse it switches off once it exceeds the current set point, maybe after a short time delay? Or maybe something that doesn't exceed the maximum temperature rating of the device. If you know of any that could be used that would be great!
