Hi Given,

As per the test data I could find, I observe that the threshold is around 100mA. This is based on test data with Vin = 5V, Vout =2.8V

Yes, the output ripple will be dependant on the Vin and Vout. I would recommend to check the following app note:

Section 3 and 7 for a better understanding.
