BQ25730: BQ25730 - Inductance value

Part Number: BQ25730

Hi team,

We are using the BQ25730 for charging 2S cell (1P and 2800 mah). Since our charging current is low, can we use higher inductance like 22uH to lower inductor current ripple at 400kHZ.In datasheet, it is mentioned that IADPT pin reads the inductor value and switching frequency.  If we can,  what should be value of the IADPT pin resistor. Is there any kind of formulation for higher inductance?

Have a nice day.

  • Hi Semih,

We suggest 4.7uH inductor even if the ripple is high. The part will operate in PFM. It is still the most efficient way to use our chargers. TI uses look-up table to detect the inductance.

Since your battery is 1P, 2800mAh, I wonder if you should try BQ25792--I2C controlled, 5-A, 1-4 cell buck-boost charger with dual-input selector and USB PD 3.0 OTG output.

    Regards,
