BQ77216: OT Detection Hysteresis

Part Number: BQ77216

Hi Experts

Why there is two resistor in the table? Is it OT hysteresis and UT hysteresis? And I see the selection table has many selection of OT threshold,is it mean this over temperature is for BQ77216, and the OT pin is another one protection?

  • Hi Nanxiao,

For the BQ77216, we determine the OT hysteresis value by subtracting 10°C from the programmed OT threshold and using the equivalent resistance given in the table of OT external resistances (see below).

As you'll notice, the table does not include resistance values for 55°C and 52°C, which would be the hysteresis values for 65°C and 62°C respectively.

The values listed in the OT detection hysteresis table that you are asking about are the external resistance values for 55°C (3530Ω) and 52°C (4186Ω). Those two values are listed there since they are not programmable OT threshold values.

I hope this helps answer your question!
