BQ25601D: Q4 Control not happening for Battery connection switching by QON\ Pin.

Hello,

We are using BQ25601DRTWR for our single cell Battery charging circuit. we need to switch the connection of Battery by Q4 BATFET with tactile switch on QON\ Pin.

After putting device in ship mode, we can switch the Q4 ON but with the same switch we cannot switch the Q4 OFF.

Is there any method to do this?

Hello Ashish,

Thank you for reaching out via E2E. The /QON pin does not have the functionality to initiate turn off of Q4 BATFET. Ship mode can only be entered via I2C write from host.

do we need extra mosfet to disconnect?

Hi Ashish,

To turn off Q4 BATFET you will need to use I2C communication to write to BATFET_DIS bit in REG07.

If you are unable or do not wish to use I2C communication in your design then using an extra mosfet to disconnect BAT from system output is an alternative option.
