LMR51420: EN pin sourcing current

Part Number: LMR51420

Hello,

I am wondering if the datasheet is wrong or my device is defective! From the datasheet SLUSEF6C, the post rising threshold current should be typ10nA/max 200nA. As I measure 86uA on my prototype, I am wondering at the units in the datasheet. Could you please clarify?

Regards,

Hugues Lepage

  • Hi Hugues

How did you measure the IEN ?

    Thank you

  • Hello Gui,

See attached sketch. I simply measured the voltage at EN and calculated the current. Note that my prototype was modified quite a bit, therefore there might be leakage from another source. Before troubleshooting, I simply wanted to confirm that the units in the datasheet were right (I mean nA, not uA).

    Regards,

  • Hello again Gui,

As I mentioned, my prototype has a few modifications. Therefore I looked at the lower resistor (15k8) which was actually made with two 31K6 / 0402 in parallel with the microscope... one was cracked! Fixed it, and now works as expected. Using the same method as previous, I calculated IEN at 200nA. This is such a low current that it cannot be so accurate using the multimeter. Bottom line, the datasheet is good.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your prompt support.

    I’m closing this ticket.

    Regards,

    Hugues
