I am using LM5170EVM-BIDIR as a controlled buck converter, and I am looking for a way to sense the inductor current. Could you please suggest any methods or approaches for sensing the inductor current?

Gaureej

Thanks Feng Ji,
Could you please elaborate a bit on how to use the Iout1 and Iout2 as per the diagram shared?
Could you please provide me with the steps to measure the inductor current using this method?
Thanks,
Gaureej
Hi Gaureej,
As described in datasheet 8.3.6 Channel Current Monitor (IOUT1, IOUT2), IOUT1 is a current source that is proportional to Vcs.
Please read LM5170EVM-BIDIR user guide.
You may measure IOUT1 signal at J2.
Best Regards,
Feng Ji
