Hi,

I want to start project of building a battery power bank BMS and I saw that TI has a block diagram

I wonder if someone did this project before and can help me with choosing the right parts and scheme suggestions.

The bloc diagram has embedded links for the recommendation of the components.

Hi Eric,

Thank you for helping me but I have a flow up question

I saw in the scheme in the link attached that this design is for 1S battery so i would like to know if 1S battery is enough to charge a smartphone that has a 4700Ah battery?

If so i would like to know what cell is the best for this.

Hi Stas,

1S battery is enough for a smartphone application. In the link Eric shared, there are links that lead to various applications like smartphone. In the smartphone block diagram (https://www.ti.com/solution/smartphone?variantid=23043&subsystemid=23064#block-diagram ), there are recommendations for specific fast chargers.

i understood that 1S is enough but i would be happy to get a suggestion abot how much cells in parralel i need for a smartphone chrge?

Hi Stas,

That would depend on the design spec you want for your product. For example, the iPhone 14 series ranges from ~3000 to ~4000mAh. Power banks can range from lower capacities up to 10000mAh. The actual capacity of 10000mAh power bank will be lower, which means it can charge the phone around 2 times.
