BQ34Z100-DEVICE-FW: After updated FW to version 0100_2_01 EVM shows zero voltage and current

Using BQstudio I updated the FW of the bq34z100-g1 in the EVM. Following the update bqstudio correctly identifies the EVM and shows active communication with the board. After the update I programmed the chemistry and updated the data memory parameters to fit the lead acid 6 cell battery I am using. All programming completed successfully.

However, I am unable to calibrate the board as both voltage and current values are zero and not affected by anything I do.

Any ideas what to try next?

Hello Noam,

You may want to set the jumpers to default(probably single cell mode) and connect single cell voltage, then import data flash for your configuration.

Thank you for the quick response. The FW I used was bq34z100_v2_01_00_25.exe which based on https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/1205861/bq34z100-r2-firmware-upgrade I understood could be used to upgrade the G1 version to R2. After encountering the problem I ran into a post from several months ago that said there is a bug in the R2 FW so I reverted to the 0.16 version and the board is working again.
