LP2951: Difference between LP2951DR and LP2951-50DR

Part Number: LP2951

Hi team,

What's the difference between LP2951DR and LP2951-50DR? Can we use LP2951-50DR to output adjustable votlage? Thanks!

Nison

  • Nison,

LP2951-50DR device comes with a built-in feedback divider that can generate a fixed output of 5V. Meanwhile, LP2951DR, can not be used in the fixed configuration. Also, LP2951-50DR can be used to generate the adjustable output voltage.

As explained in section 7.1 and 7.4.2, to output the internally programmed fixed voltage, tie the SENSE pin to the OUTPUT pin and the FEEDBACK pin to the VTAP pin. Alternatively, a user-programmable voltage ranging from the internal 1.235-V reference to a 30-V max can be set by using an external resistor divider pair. The resistor divider is tied to VOUT, and the divided-down voltage is tied directly to FEEDBACK for comparison against the internal 1.235-V reference.

Please review and let me know in case further details are needed.
