Hi team,
Would you please help to check what’s input current accuracy if we set input current limit:2.5A, thanks

Hi team,

Hi Kailun,
Unfortunately we do not have accuracy data available for input current limit = 2.5A. The input current limit setting is designed so that 2.5A is the max similar to how the IINLIM setting is the max of the spec for the lower current values listed in the electrical characteristics table of the datasheet on page 10.
Looking at the data we do have available the min for input current limit = 2.5A setting should be in the range of 2.1A to 2.2A and the max is 2.5A.
Best Regards,
Garrett
Hi Garrett,
Thanks for your reply! Do you mean once we set the current limit=2.5A, the input current would not exceed this value usually?
Our customer want to double check if the input current limit=2.5A, will the actual current reach at 2.75A? +10% accuracy.
Hi Garrett,
Customer and I, we don't understand the mechanism of IINLIM setting, could you please help to explain?
They want to check with you the max value of input current limit, I noticed that in page10, the max value is 1500mA.
If the Adapter is plug in, the max value of input current is 3.25A.
In the description of ILIM pin, this value could be set by resistor and register bits.
So their question is:
1. Could they using register to set IINLIM=2.5A?
2. What if these setting has conflicts? For example, resistor set 1A but using USB900.
3. As the picture show, only the USB150,500,900 and Adapter 1.5A has accuracy description?
Thanks and look for you reply!
Hi Kailun,
Please see my comments below.

This is correct. The device is designed so that input current should not exceed the setting. Therefore there is a relatively low minimum value for the accuracy to ensure the max does not exceed the setting (in your case 2.5A).
They want to check with you the max value of input current limit
The maximum input current limit setting is 3.25A and the minimum is 100 mA. 1500mA is just the maximum input current limit setting where the accuracy has been specified. We do not provide accuracy spec for all possible configurations.
Remaining questions:
1) Yes they can set ILIM = 2.5A via register.
2)The actual input current limit will be the smaller value between the register setting and the ILIM resistor setting. For example if resistor sets ILIM to 3A but register sets ILIM to 2.5A actual input current limit will be 2.5A.
3)Correct, not every setting has accuracy specification.

Garrett
