LM2660: Considering the LM2660MX/NOPB due to the EOL of LM2662M

Hi,

We are considering LM2660MX/NOPB due to the EOL of LM2662M. The main differences between LM2662 and LM2660 are the switching frequency and current rating. The conditions of use are +2.5 V to -2.5 V and a current of 0.2 Amax, so I think the constants for C and R should be the same, but any advice would be helpful.

    Thanks for reaching out to us via e2e.

    The LM2660 also has a higher output resistance and will therefore probably have a lower efficiency when you use it as a drop-in replacement.
    But my main concern is the following. You have mentioned yourself that the current rating is different. The LM2660 is only rated for 100mA output current. So, it does not match the conditions you gave (+2.5 V to -2.5 V and a current of 0.2 Amax).

    Hi Harry, 

    As shown in the circuit diagram, 32 mA is assumed. Please let us know if there are any concerns regarding the constants of the peripheral circuits.

    Hello Conor,

    Looking at the graphs in the datasheet: Due to the higher output resistance I would expect a slightly lower output voltage.
    But this may depend on your load, so I would definitely recommend to try it first, before you order some volume of the LM2660.
