TPS61288: Peak switch current limit

Part Number: TPS61288
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61046

Hi,

There's a point I don't understand from datasheet, regarding it my understanding is that I have to choose an inductor which saturation current will be above 15A because peak switch current limit is set at 15A (I attach you below the paragraph which I'm talking about). However, I have been reading an application note where is explained how to calculate the maximum switch current (I attach you below). In this document, I have to calculate duty cycle for my application (Vin=3.3V; Vout=12V so efficiency=92%), D=0.747. Then, I set my inductor value as 6.8uH so attending equation 2 from application note inductor ripple current is IL=823 mA (I set frequency min switching 440KHz as datasheet specified). Then, I calculate my maximum output current where Ilim is 12 A (data from datasheet) and I obtain 2.93A. Because of my output current is 0.092 A in my application Iomax>Io so this IC would be okey. The last step is to calculate the maximum switch current in the system, attending my application note is: Isw=IL/2+Iout_app_max/(1-D)= 0.807A so it is not necessary to set an inductor with saturation current 15A, it would be okey if its saturation current is higher than 0.807A??
