LM5143: how much phase can be stackable

Part Number: LM5143

Hi Team,

just want to check what's the max phase that can be stackable. datasheet shows LM5143 can only achieve 2x IC stackable ( 4ph) and if using external clk, it can achieve more, right? And is there limitation on max phase it can acheive? Thanks.

  • Hi Given,

Theoretically, LM5143 can be stacked by any quantity. But you know, if you use too many LM5143, it is difficult to connect them and may have some unknown issues. Most customers only use two to make a 4-phase buck converter, which can handle about 100A current. It's enough for most applications.
