BQ25890EVM-664: BQ25980

Part Number: BQ25890EVM-664
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25890

Now the /CE pin is  connected full-down.

I think we need to check if there is a pattern error related to heat dissipation in PCB artwork.
When charging is continuously toggled, turn the FAN on the BQ25890 IC chip to provide heat dissipation, and it will be charged very well.

By the way, we have to design with FANless, so we are going to modify the PCB by referring to the PCB ARTWORK file designed by IT.
The BQ25890EVB purchased from TI works very well.

The problem is that the board we developed cannot be charged unless the FAN is turned.
If you don't turn the FAN, the charge will stop at 70% without progressing further.

For your information, the charging adapter we use is charged with +5V, +9V, +12V, and we are trying to charge with +12V 2000mA.

  • Hi Teashik,

I have provided you a link to our BQ25890EVM pcb board files for your reference. As you have pointed out the device will reduce charge current and then stop charging if the IC junction temperature gets too high.
