BQ24259: can we set charging current at 2.5A in bq24259?

Hi team,

     The customers have used our bq24259 and they are really familiar with bq24259.  The are satisfied with the short time exiting the ship mode (2 ms) among the 1s charger. Now in their new design, they need charging current at 2.5A. I find the over current protection is about 4-7.5A. So would the customers use our bq24259 to meet their 2.5A-charging current need?

    Hi Nan, 

    As the title of the BQ24259 datasheet indicated the device is a 2A charger. It is not possible to set charge current to 2.5A.

    The customer will need to shift to one of our newer buck chargers similar to the BQ24259, but with a higher charge capacity. A couple options which come to mind are the BQ25601 or our newest single cell buck charger the BQ25622.
