Hi team,

I have a question. Can all NC pin connect to GND as thermal dissipation? If yes, its thermal resistance is measured with the layout shown in Fig. 29?

Hi Shoji,

Yes, you can connect all NC pins to GND. Soldering the NC pins to ground on the board provides additional thermal paths to ground. The board ground plane has more thermal mass than the IC and helps reduce the IC temperature.

The thermal resistance mentioned in the datasheet comes from simulation using a JEDEC standard board model and not from measurements.
