UCD3138: How to prevent reading binary code burned in UCD3138 through devices?

Part Number: UCD3138

Hi:

With UCD3138 has been developed to complete the digital power supply, with what method to prevent reading download in the chip inside the binary code?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

Bascially, there are two interfaces for accessing the memory-----pmbus and jtag.

For production firmware, it's suggested to disable JTAG.

As for the pmbus interface, it's usually used for communicating with the host system. So in order to prevent from reading the flash memory, the application firmware should not support access flash memory.

One thing need to know is that if the device gets back to ROM, it supports access flash memory anyway. So it shall be good to have some keys for jumping back to ROM.

It's also good to erase all the flash memory before jumping back to ROM if higher security is required.

    Best Regards,

    Xuemei
