UCC27211: Peak current duration

Currently my customer is using UCC27211 for their design, and they want to know the duration of the peak current and sink current. Could you give some comments on this question?

    Hello Jerry,

    To help with this can you provide the pulse duration and the frequency that the customer is operating? In most applications the duration of the driver peak currents, duty cycle and average current is not a concern, I would like to review the numbers the customer is targeting to determine if there is no concern at all, if I need to reach out for confirmation.

    Actually customer just want to know why we didn't mention the duration of peak current and sink current in our datasheet, they think this spec may different between different vendors for the same situation. So they want to know more details about that.

    Could you pls give some comments about this? Thanks a lot.

    Hi Jerry,

    There are some, but not many TI datasheets I have seen that have average current ratings, and maybe some that mention peak current pulses. Since the peak current widths will determine average current at a given operating frequency, can you get a target operating frequency from the customer to determine this duration.?

    Also, I will have to reach out for some advice. Any  numbers we provide would have to be understood as design guidelines, and not a new datasheet spec or over-riding the datasheet.

    Do you still need some guidance on current pulse width duration, or average current? If you can send some operating frequency target I can look into this.
